Plan the work in phases, stages and tasks
Lay out each project the way you deliver it, then break it into tasks that nest under each other.
- Phase and stage structure per project
- Tasks that nest under parent tasks
- Parent tasks close only when their children do
A structure that matches your fee stages
- Create phases and stages for each project.
- Keep one list of task types for the whole organisation.
- Reuse standard checklists on tasks.

Tasks inside tasks
- Break a task into smaller tasks, as many levels as you need.
- A parent task cannot be closed while a child is still open.
- Reopening a child reopens the parent above it.

Dates that mean something
- Give tasks start and end dates.
- Time can only be logged against a task inside its dates.
- Team membership dates are checked the same way.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a timeline chart view?
Not today. Planning is by phases, stages and tasks with dates. A timeline view is not available yet.
Can I delete a task that has children?
Deleting is checked so that a parent is never left with work hidden beneath it.
Do tasks have checklists?
Yes. A task can carry a checklist, and it cannot be completed until the checklist is.
